You asked

What are THC and CBD short for?

We answered

THC is short for delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol. The delta-9 is silent. It’s the main active ingredient within cannabis, and it is responsible for the majority of a strain’s psychoactive effects. In other words, it's the compound responsible for making your Uncle Joe's stories more tolerable.

CBD is short for cannabidiol. Don’t worry, we’re not totally sure how to pronounce it either. It’s the second most prominent compound in cannabis. Unlike THC, CBD has no psychoactive effects.
