With Nikki’s extensive marketing background, she’s fit in perfectly as the Tweed brand grows. As the Associate Brand Manager, she has a passion for educating people on why cannabis is an undeniable force for good, and she’s excited about all the new research around the cannabis plant. So what’s a day in the life of Nikki like? Let’s find out.

What is it about Tweed that makes you like coming to work every day?
Being networked among a family of like-minded individuals who also want to change the world plays a big factor into why I come into work every day with a smile and newfound energy.
How has your job changed since legalization?
The biggest change in the landscape of my role is the regulations. Due to the nature of cannabis and it being an age-restricted product, we have to be very diligent in ensuring that we are staying within age-gated spaces and getting our brand out to adult consumers only.
Do you find there is a stigma when you say you work in the cannabis industry?
Yes and no. It largely depends on who I am speaking with and the context of the conversation. For example, my grandfather was a tough cookie to crack. However, for the most part, people are more curious than anything else. Their first topic after learning about the industry I'm in is usually around stock prices.
How do you feel as a woman in the cannabis industry?
I recognize that the ratio of women to men in this industry is a constant work in progress. However, as a woman in this emerging space, I personally feel empowered to make an impact. An industry literally made up of feminized plants should certainly be one that leads by example in gender equality.
What does #BalanceForBetter mean to you?
#BalanceForBetter is a call to galvanize a more equitable world for women, not only for International Women's Day but far beyond.
