Anything plastic will be pelletized and used to make new products (just like the packaging), and anything electronic will be shredded and sorted into precious metals. These metals then get melted and used for new products that are made of...well, metal.
As comprehensive as this program is, people in some municipalities across Canada will not need to use it—there are local curbside recycling programs that do accept certain cannabis packaging. Click here to learn more about figuring out the recycling rules in your community.
For the record, any of our beverage packaging will be recyclable in the blue bin. But if you happen to be in a participating Tweed | TerraCycle store, you can dispose of it in the same bin as regular cannabis packaging (i.e., not the vape bin).
