Meet the Grower-
Started at Tweed: February 23, 2015
Job Title: Production Assistant
Katie Amo came to Tweed highly recommended. After meeting in a greenhouse setting a few years back, it was two of the colleagues she now shares the Mother Room with that first encouraged Katie to apply to the production assistant post she has held since last winter’s harvest.
After graduating from Algonquin College’s horticulture program in 2014, she expanded her lifelong love of the outdoors by joining the team at the Richmond Nursery, a greenhouse that houses perennials, trees, shrubs and an array of plants. It was there that Katie met her then and future colleagues, and caught wind of a chance to legally marry her passion for cannabis and horticulture.
Since, she’s honed her craft under the Tweed canopy with the consistency of a seasoned green thumb. Notably, Katie’s been charged with keeping our mom plants healthy and happy. She says she could see her future at Tweed developing into a career as a section grower on the vegetation side of the operation, or a full-time role in preventative plant health.
The Proust Questionnaire
