Hey Look, Win
Tragically Hip Tickets!
Are you coming to our Front Yard Shindig this weekend?
You may want to clear your schedule and come on down to Smiths Falls, because we’re continuing our run of summer concert fun with another Strain Name Game – this time, exclusively for our Shindig attendees.
In this round, you can focus your creative energies on Canadian legends the Tragically Hip for a chance to win coveted tickets to the Ottawa show of the band’s farewell Man Machine Poem tour.
The winner and a lucky friend will take in the Hip’s Gord Downie, Rob Baker, Paul Langlois, Gord Sinclair, and Johnny Fay on August 18 at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, just two days before the tour’s last show in their hometown of Kingston, ON.
The band’s masterfully crafted lyrics have captivated audiences for more than a decade, weaving pieces of Canadian nostalgia into poetic storytelling, expressive riffs, and an enigmatic sound.
To win your way in to the concert, we’re encouraging you to pay homage to your favourite Hip songs and spend a day submerged in the legendary lyrics of one of Canada’s most beloved bands.
Find inspiration for a Tweed strain name in the lyrics of any Hip song, and submit your entries the good old fashioned way – print and write your masterpiece on this form and drop your ballot in the entry box at the Shindig.
The Shindig, an outdoor concert right here on the Tweed lawn in Smiths Falls, is a chance for us to celebrate our customers and the community that supports us, and we’re saying thank-you in the best way we know how: by paying it forward with even more music and a tribute to Canadian legends the Tragically Hip.
Time to dig deep into your iTunes library, dust off your CD collection, or queue up those records and get lost in the lyrics to come up with a Tweed strain name that’s Ahead by a Century.
