Meet the Grower-
Started at Tweed: March 31, 2014
Job Title: Section Grower
Working with cannabis is more a calling than a vocation for Corey Evans. A green thumb who derives serenity from any garden under the sun, her career has been marked by a collection of horticultural pursuits – a journey that is just now starting to reach a professional crescendo in her capacity as a valued veteran member of our production team.
Corey counts as the catalyst to her love for horticulture the time she spent working at a greenhouse during her studies at Trent University, where she graduated with a split major in anthropology and indigenous studies. The breadth of her experience has since grown to include flower kiosks, greenhouse and garden growing, and landscaping. She is also an avid organic grower who holds a master gardening certificate from Gaia College.
Even more important than her passion for plants is Corey's compassion for people. While on pilgrimage to the West Coast she studied horticultural therapy in Vancouver and helped design gardens for adults with autism through the Canucks Autism Network. In the future, Corey hopes to find a means of fusing her love for horticulture and people with special needs.
